Master electricians for the work that has to be right.
Tyler Hopkins is one of Massachusetts’ youngest licensed Master Electricians, with a decade of trade experience behind every job.
Certifications competitors can’t claim.
The shop runs on manufacturer training and state credentials that lock out one-truck competitors. Each one unlocks specific work, warranties, or rebates the customer would not otherwise get.
Master Electrician
The ceiling of the trade in Massachusetts. Permits pulled in the master’s name on every job, so the inspector knows who is accountable.
Generac
Authorized dealer plus certified warranty technician. The same shop sells, sizes, installs, and services the unit. No outside warranty referrals.
Panasonic
Reserved for shops that meet manufacturer training plus install-volume thresholds. Fewer than five percent of MA installers hold this status.
Mass Save
Mini split installs and panel upgrades qualify for utility rebates. We file the paperwork on your behalf and the rebate comes from the utility, not us.
Four anchor services. Every one done by the master.
The shop runs on certifications most competitors don’t carry. Generac dealer status, Panasonic Gold installer status, and the Mass Save partnership unlock work, warranties, and rebates that the manufacturer reserves for credentialed shops.
Whole-home generator installation
Generac dealer plus certified warranty technician means the same shop sells, sizes, installs, and services the unit. We size to your real load. The transfer switch is commissioned the day the utility turns your meter back on, so you don’t find out it doesn’t work during an outage.

Mini split installation
Reserved for shops that meet manufacturer training plus install volume thresholds. Line sets routed on the shortest indoor run, hidden behind trim the client picks. Mass Save rebates apply on most installs.

Electrical panel upgrades
A modern kitchen plus a heat pump plus an EV charger needs 200A minimum. We coordinate with the utility, pull permits in the master’s name, and close every job with a labeled panel diagram.

Residential electrical
We coordinate with your cabinet installer and counter shop so pendants land over the island, outlets land where the appliance sits, and switch legs fit the lighting plan. Commercial-grade wire, breakers, boxes.

Commercial electrical
Tenant fit-outs, panel work, code compliance. We write the inspection-ready scope, pull commercial permits, and close every job to the standard the building inspector expects on the first walkthrough.

Hopkins Electric · The Shop
Built by a master electrician who actually answers the phone.
Hopkins Electric started in 2022 as Tyler Hopkins Electrician. One truck, one apprentice, and a list of neighbors in Taunton who needed wiring they could trust. Tyler had spent years on bigger crews, but he wanted to run jobs the way he was trained to run them.
In 2024 he earned his Master Electrician license, the ceiling of the trade in Massachusetts. At the start of 2025 the business was rebranded Hopkins Electric LLC to match the scope: residential remodels, commercial tenant fit-outs, Generac whole-home generators, Panasonic Gold mini splits, and the Mass Save rebate work that pairs with most of it.
We’re small on purpose. Tyler shows up on the estimate. He shows up on the install. If something goes sideways, he is the person who picks up the phone. None of what we do is a premium service, it is the job done right. Read the full story.
Three steps. Fixed-price. Permitted.
Every job, large or small, follows the same sequence: walk-through, fixed-price scope, permitted install, labeled close-out. There is no “premium tier”; this is the standard.
The estimate is a real conversation.
About your panel, your scope, and what you need. Fixed-price scope on the back of the walkthrough, not a number pulled from a software tool that never saw your panel. The walk-through is free, and Tyler runs it personally.
Permits pulled in the master’s name.
So the town inspector knows who is accountable. Commercial-grade wire, breakers, and boxes. No box-store specials, no field substitutions. The cost of permits is included in the fixed-price scope.
Labeled panel diagram in every install.
Every job closes with a labeled panel diagram taped inside the dead-front for the next electrician to read. Generators get commissioned the day the utility turns your meter back on. We don’t leave a job half-explained.
Tyler installed our whole-home Generac and rebuilt our 200A panel. The labeled panel diagram he left taped inside the cover is the most professional thing I have seen from a contractor in twenty years of remodels.

Are you licensed?
Yes. Tyler Hopkins is a Massachusetts Master Electrician (license earned 2024). Hopkins Electric LLC is fully insured and bonded. We pull permits in the Master Electrician’s name, so the inspector knows who is accountable on every job.
Do you pull permits?
On every job that requires one. We file with your town inspectional services office, attend rough-in and final inspections, and close out the permit when the work passes. The cost of permits and inspections is included in the fixed-price scope, never billed back.
What’s the timeline for a generator install?
Site walkthrough plus utility coordination is week one. Permit and equipment arrival is week two to three. Install plus commissioning is one to two days on site, scheduled around the utility’s gas turn-on. Most whole-home Generac jobs close inside four to six weeks from signed estimate to running unit.
Do you do Mass Save rebates?
Yes. Hopkins Electric is a Mass Save partner. Mini split installs and certain panel upgrades qualify for utility rebates that can run several thousand dollars. We file the paperwork on your behalf and the rebate comes back from the utility, not the contractor.
How fast can you get to me for an emergency?
Emergency electrical calls (no power, exposed wiring, burnt outlets) jump to the front of the line, same-day when we are available. For Taunton, Brockton, Fall River, Attleboro, Randolph, and Stoughton we usually get on site within two to five business days for non-emergency work.
What materials do you spec?
Commercial-grade wire, commercial-grade breakers, and commercial-grade boxes. The same materials that pass commercial inspection on the first visit. No box-store specials, no field substitutions.
The estimate is free. The work is fixed-price.
Free walk-through estimate. No pressure, no surprise charges. Master Electrician on site for every quote, every install.
